SomatoEmotional Release (Body emotional release).   Sometimes a physical injury can plague you long after the site has healed.  Even when CST releases restrictions in body tissues, sometimes a release of emotional energy is necessary to fully discharge the trauma.  The trauma can also be primarily of an emotional nature.  In either case. SomatoEmotional Release SER is encouraged through imagery and dialog techniques.  SER is a release from body tissues of energy that has been stored subsequent to a disruptive incident.  The energy or energy cyst which is foreign to the tissues in which it resides almost always has within it an emotional element. When SER techniques are effectively carried out, the emotion is re-experienced by the client and  often a vivid memory of the incident during which the energetic placement occurred comes into conscious awareness.

The energy cyst may be thought of as a walled- off localized concentration of energy that is not in tune or integrated with the organized energy system of the rest of the body in which it resides.  The walling off is done by the host’s body energy as a defense against dispersion of the disorganized energy through a wide volume of host tissues.  It is assumed in this model the the smaller volume of host tissues affected by the energy cyst, the lesser will be the disruptive influence.
